It is common knowledge that fertility decreases as women age. Women are most fertile in their twenties. In their early thirties, women are also very fertile. However, once a woman hits age 35, her fertility will drop dramatically. Once again at age 40, a woman’s fertility drops again, this time even more dramatically.

By the time a woman reaches age 45, it is nearly impossible for her to get pregnant using her own eggs. Women ages 20-24 have around an 86 percent chance of getting pregnant within a given year. For women ages 25-29, women have around a 78 percent chance of getting pregnant within a given year. Women ages 30 to 34 have around a 63 percent chance of getting pregnant within a given year.
