Tuberculosis is caused by the tubercle bacillus and is an infectious disease. It is also important to note that there is a difference between tuberculosis and an infection of the tubercle bacillus.  There is a possibility that those with TB can also suffer from infertility as well.

Tuberculosis can cause infertility when it infects the genital tract. This type of tuberculosis is called genital TB and is the only form of TB that can cause infertility. TB is something that is contracted by breathing in tubercle bacillus. Most people are able to fight off the infection, which means that it will then remain silent in the body.

Men who suffer from genital TB can prevent sperm and semen from entering the tract, which will prevent sperm from entering into the vagina of his partner.

For women, it can cause infections in both the uterus and the tubes, which may make it difficult to conceive. Genital TB can be extremely hard to diagnose because it is often a silent issue that couples face. However, it can cause major issues with infertility if it is left untreated.
